Описание
Итог:The article explores the Old Testament connection between election and law and the early Christian approach to the Torah and argues for understanding Israel’s “no” to the Christian faith as an expression of Israel’s faithfulness to its own election – and therefore also to appreciate it from a Christian perspective. Following the declaration of orthodox rabbis from 2015, To Do the Will of Our Father in Heaven: Toward a Partnership between Jews and Christians, the article pleads for perceiving not only the tragedy but also the still unexploited potentials of the divergence of Judaism and Christianity. In their coexistence, Israel and the Church render an indispensable service to the cultures of this world by proclaiming to them God’s justice – in a differentiated way that at the same moment strengthens and irritates the normative forces.
