Only in the time of the Republic of Weimar the Collegium was discovered as "german institute", with which the Germanism in Rome should be supported. For that reason both German ambassies in Rome helped the Germanicum in its troubles with the Governatore di Roma, who tried to dispossess a part of the college. |
