| Resumo: | The sacred Congregation of the Reverenda Fabbrica di San Pietro had its Office and Tribunal erected in Malta in 1626 to look after pious legacies which were not fulfilled by the heirs or descendants of the founders. This Commission succeeded to settle many cases and money was sent to Rome for the embellishment of St. Peter's Basilica. Indults from the Holy See were frequently obtained to generously help Maltese distressed families and capital projects in churches and monasteries among others. |
