總結:The position of the diocesan architect was institutionalized in Spain in 1876, following the example of France before the Church and the State separated. They were liberal professionals acting as intermediaries between the confessional State and the Church in those matters relating to the maintenance and building of temples and other facilities for the secular Church understood as public services. This article discusses the way they were recruited and their main contributions to the religious recomposition of contemporary society. In this period the religious architecture was a powerful symbol of the recovery of the Church (on new foundations other than those of the Old Regime society).
