| Summary: | That form of Christianity known as Eastern Orthodoxy, or simply Orthodoxy, has historically been rooted in cultures in which Orthodoxy has been privileged over other Christian and religious groups. Different Orthodox churches to this day bear the identities of the nations in which they once were, or still are, the majority religion: the Greek Orthodox Church, the Russian Orthodox Church, the Serbian Orthodox Church, and so on.
