However, we believe that criteria such as John Rawl's principles of social justice can be used to assess the degree of justice in the laws and institutions of the concrete place and time. That is what we endeavour to do in this article with some of the diocesan synod constitutions referring to the hospitals, the churches, the sick and poor people in force in the sixteenth century Lima society |
