Whakarāpopototanga:The contribution proposes to identify in the documents of recent magisterium the fundamental guidelines concerning the commitment for missionary cooperation to which the particular Churches are called, mainly, through the analysis of references contained in the conciliar decree Ad gentes, in the apostolic exhortation of Paul VI Evangelii nuntiandi and in the encyclical ofJohn Paul II Redemptoris missio. It also mentions references on the subject matter contained in the apostolic exhortation which contain the fruits of the special Assemblies of the Synod of Bishops dedicated to the different continents. Specific attention is given to the documents of the Italian Bishops' Conference, both as regards texts that deal directly with missionary cooperation and as well as in the Decennial Pastoral Guidelines. From a global perspective, the guiding principles of the missionary activity, contained in Ad gentes and in the programmatii: documents of Paul VI and John Paul II, emerge evidently also because they have constituted indelible points of reference not onry in the operational directives specified by the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and summarized in can. 791, but also benchmarksfor the ecclesiological reflection on mission as a constitutive dimension of pastoral action in territories of earliest evangelization.
