Description
Summary:Current codicial criminal law has to be complemented with a series of special rules given by the supreme authority of the Church in order to ensure a uniform and effective action in the prosecution and punishment of the so-called gravioria delicta, particularly those of child abuse, cases that have been the real catalyst for those special regulations and have raised awareness of the need to comply with the laws and aplly the ecclesial criminal law through the corresponding process. The preliminary investigation is an obligation of the Ordinary whenever he has news of an offense, which follows the criminal judicial proceeding, or the administrative procedure when the rules allow it. The latter has increased ist prominence in recent years, serving as a support for the canonical penalty system to be effective, especially at serious crime situations
