Description
Summary:This paper is divided into two sections: the first part of the article aims to investigate the principle of the Christian dualism of obligations and functions. lt is the opposite of the distinctive monism of different cultures, still present especially in the Islamic world. In the second part the author explores, for the first time, the concept of publica auctoritas universalis in the "Gaudium et Spes" and in the thought of the Roman Pontiffs, from John XIII to Pope Francis. In the background the Orthodox doctrine of the "Third Rome" and the substantial differences between law and prophecy.
