Descrição
Resumo:The canon 25 issued by the synod of Ancyra (314) is devoted to a tragic particular case of a suicide girl, whose sister has been married with the seducer, then to the punishment against the guilty persons. On the basis of an integrated approach and in the frame of the textual analysis offered by Gérard Genette, some hints at various topics are presented: among them, the origins and the transmission of the canonical statement in the earliest preserved synodical writings, possible cultural models, the initial ban of alliances among adfines, and questions about recent religious studies in Late Antiquity. In other words, every ancient canon or later canonical document, as a text (i.e., a verbal set endowed with its own meaning), can not be considered in its own semiotic uniqueness but inside a plot of links with other texts or traditions.
