Résumé:"In the recent past, at least two priests and one religious have been reported as seeking and receiving from their bishops or religious superior a permission to run for, and if elected to hold, civil office. One of the bishops gave his permission after getting approval from his presbyteral council and upon the priest in question resigning his ministry while participating in civil office.
