Résumé:A couple, both Catholic, separate and receive a civil divorce ( divorce absolute) but never initiate a process with respect to petitioning for a decree of nullity. The couple reconciles , receiving counseling and "are going to marry each other again." What role, if any, does their parish priest have in this process? They want "to marry" in accord with the law of the Church. Canonically and pastorally how should this be handled?
