Certainly the Pacts constitute one of the many occasions of the State-Church relationship which uses the mechanism of the treaty of International Law. However, after ninety years it is necessary to look to 1929 from a much more relevant point of view. It is necessary to reflect on an often overlooked issue: how the 1929 pacts introduced a radical change in the Italian Church.
